My Story My StoryI'm Vicky, mother, marriage celebrant and seamstress extrordinare for myself at Tuitui Clothing and www.cocoandco.co.nz. a co-operative open workshop and retail gallery space in Hastings - Aotearoa, where I share my studio with other crafters and artists. 'Tuitui' meaning sewing or threading in the Maori language, resonates with my work as both seamstress and celebrant (www.tuituiceremonies.co.nz) where I get to both; sew threads and cloth together creating one off pieces ,and thread peoples lives together through the sacred act of ceremony. My inspiration comes from my love of unconventionality, odd-ordinaryness, and all things spiked with whimsy. I am also inspired by other crafters around the globe who take a stand against mass production and unconscious consumerism. My love for transforming second hand items into unique wearable creations has led me to my little online shop, so that they can be made available to the world at large. Im sure there will be something at Tuitui that catches your eye. From unique one off Bunus (my signature upcycled woolen blanket outer wear) in all sizes and shapes, to Bambunu Basics consisting of colourful tops and bottoms providing everyday wear for the little ones in our lives. Welcome to my space where old threads become new.Vicky x
